I don’t watch a lot of television, but several times now I’ve seen a ([[DNC]]-funded) commercial promoting [[Obamacare]], more formally euphemized as the Affordable Care Act (ACA). And now I’m reading that the White House is recruiting celebrities and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary [[Kathleen Sebelius]] is in talks with the NFL and NBA.

I have never seen such lobbying for a bill. Wait … wasn’t it already signed into law? Apparently the claim is that all this promotion is to educate the public on what is admittedly a complicated, confusing system, and get them to “buy in”. So we have a system/service being forced onto millions of Americans and businesses, but we need to advertise it to “increase demand”? Or is it as others suggest that the real need is to sway public opinion to overlook a storm that’s pretty much already started, the benefit being forgiveness at the polls this Fall?

Seriously, the feds are even talking about not enforcing employer mandates this year, possibly to put off expected massive layoffs and part-timing until after mid-term elections. Except it’s too late, since many companies have already made changes to preemptively align with new policies. Call it greed, but it’s taxes and regulation that in the end pretty much dictate hiring and outsourcing. And this program is a massive, serial job killer.

The American public was told not to read the bill (our legislators sure as hell didn’t), and dissent was blamed on ignorance in spite of the [[CBO]] and [[IRS]] telling us the opposite of the proponents’ claims. To this day, the majority of Americans don’t want it, and plenty of states aren’t setting up health care exchanges as they were told.

Frankly, I don’t know which concerns me more — tax-funded PSAs promoting the most contentious legislation of our time, or realizing the DNC feels the need to spend millions to promote something that’s already a law.

This can’t be good. And it won’t end well.
