This TED Talk shows us what we do not realize — that in today’s interactively data-mined Internet world, by our clicks and comments, WE determine our exposure to what we do and don’t like. And it manages and shifts the weight of news and interests, not only for ourselves, but society.

The speaker suggests that our activity is a public act. And even if it were not visible, it would be true. We are consumers and voices in media, and therefore have a power and responsibility as citizens to make better choices.
