This TED Talk is really about how mankind’s view of animals has become the dominant factor in their survival or extinction. The prime example used is the Teddy Bear, which turned a symbol of wilderness fears into something to hug, and even protect.

The lesson I gleaned from it was the idea that more and more of nature cannot survive on its own, the very epitome of the concept of domestication. I don’t know if we can be good caretakers, not even understanding climate and ecology as much more than theory, but we may have no choice.
